Bison hold off Wolfpack

GREAT FALLS — The Glacier boys rallied from a cold start and ended up dropping a 46-44 decision in non-conference AA basketball Saturday, to the host Great Falls Bison.

Reed Harris and Cale Gundlach scored 13 points each for the Eastern AA Bison (2-0), who led 15-5 after one quarter.

“We were down by 15 in the first half, and had a chance to tie at the end,” Glacie coach Mark Harkins, whose club lost 41-38 at Great Falls CMR Friday. “We played great defense tonight, and I thought John Pyron and Kyson Wagner played great on that Harris kid. He’s a great player, and they defended him pretty well.”

In the fourth quarter threes from Will Salonen, Jake Turner and Pyron — Pyron had seven of his team-high eight points in the final quarter — sparked the Wolfpack.

“We’re 0-2 on the weekend, but I thought we learned a lot about our team,” Harkins said. “We figured some stuff out. Especially today.”
