Head Coach

Mark Harkins

Coach Mark Harkins has been the head coach at Glacier High School since it opened in 2007.  Prior to Glacier High School, Coach Harkins has been an assistant basketball and assistant football at Flathead High School, head football and assistant track at Columbia Falls High School, assistant football, assistant basketball, and assistant track at Whitefish High School, and Head Football, assistant basketball, assistant track at Bridgeport, WA.  This is my 25th year teaching/coaching at the high school level.

Coach Harkins graduated high school from Snohomish High, and college at Western Washington.  His wife Christy has been a head volleyball coach/teacher for 23 years.  They have been married for 23 years.  Together they have 3 sons, Colton (21), Kyler (19), and Caden (16).  All 3 boys graduated from, or are attending Glacier High.

Coach Harkins was selected as the Montana Coaches Association Coach of the year following the 2016-17 state championship season.

Junior Varsity Coach

Ben Cutler

Coach Ben Cutler is in his third year coaching at Glacier High School and is currently coaching the JV team. He is also a 3rd year math teacher at Glacier High School.

Coach Cutler is a 2009 Glacier High Grad and former player for Coach Harkins. Coach Cutler went on to play basketball and run track at Carroll College in Helena, MT. He graduated from Carroll in 2015 and after that found his way back to Glacier High.  Coach Cutler is absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Pack and to carry on the great tradition of Glacier High.
Sophomore Coach

Ryan Wakefield

Coach Wakefield returns to Glacier High School for his third season with the Wolfpack.  He has been part of Coach Harkin’s staff for 3 seasons.  Prior to coaching boy’s basketball at Glacier High School, Coach Wakefield was part of the Glacier Girl’s Program from 2007 – 2010 where he served as coach of the Junior Varsity.  His other coaching stops include Flathead High School, Kalispell Middle School and Helena Flats School.  Coach Wakefield has been coaching basketball for 20 years.

Coach Wakefield is the owner of DrySpark Web Presence and Design and the Chief Editor at Every Day, Getting Better.  He is also employed by Iron Horse Golf Club in Whitefish, Montana.

Coach Wakefield is married to Kim Wakefield and together they have three boys; Braden (13), Bryson (8) and Bosley (7).

Freshman Coach

Jerad Avery

This is Coach Avery’s second-time in the Wolfpack program, returning after a short break.  Coach Avery previously coached the Wolfpack freshmen for four seasons prior to this year.   Other prior coaching stops have been; junior varsity girls at Flathead High, as a graduate assistant at the University of Montan and in Geraldine, MT with a total of fifteen years of coaching experience.
 
He is from Joliet, MT and is a six year veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He served on the USS Midway aircraft carrier during the Persian Gulf War.  He earned his bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma State and his master’s degree in school counseling at the University of Montana.  He has been a school counselor at Glacier High School since it opened.  He is married to Leila Avery and has two children Teigan (19) and Tyler (13).  Leila is a pharmacist at Walgreens, Teigan attends the University of Montana where she plays golf and earned a Presidential Leadership Scholarship.  Tyler is a 7th grader at KMS, earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, enjoys skiing, baketball, and golf.
