COLUMBIA FALLS – Glacier outscored Columbia Falls 22-7 in the fourth quarter en route to a 58-44 victory over the Wildcats in nonconference boys basketball action on Thursday night at Columbia Falls High School.

Drew Engellant led the Wolfpack with 18 points in the team’s first win. Bret Michaels had 14 points, including a 3-pointer in each quarter.

“It was a great battle, close the whole game,” Glacier coach Mark Harkins said.

Harkins said the Wildcats (1-3) controlled the tempo for three quarters, slowing things down on offense and frustrating the Wolfpack (1-2).

Dillon Shipp had 14 points for the Wildcats, including 9 in the third quarter, and Drew Morgan added 11 points and three treys.

But the Wildcats only managed two field goals in the final quarter as Glacier took control of the game.

“We were better in transition … got some long rebounds and got it into a full-court game,” Harkins said.

He said his bench put in great minutes, keeping the team fresh enough to put pressure on the Wildcats in the fourth quarter.

The Wolfpack will be back in action next Saturday versus Bozeman, while the Wildcats visit Flathead on Saturday.
